Last updated: October 13, 2026

These terms are between you and CompetenCY AI (“CompetenCY,” “we,” or “us”). By registering for or using our educational platform, you agree to them. If you act for an organization, you must have authority to do so. Your institution may also have an agreement with us.

Who can use CompetenCY

You must be at least 13, including for school-managed or guest access. If you are below the age of legal majority, you need the authorization required by law and institutional policy. Keep your login details secure and tell us promptly about unauthorized use. Institutions are responsible for authorizing eligible users.

Use the service responsibly

You may use the features included in your plan for learning, teaching, assessment, and professional development. Upload only material you are entitled to use and share, and obtain required permissions for recordings and other people’s information.

Do not misuse others’ data, harass people, discriminate unlawfully, bypass access controls, disrupt the service, upload malicious content, or reverse engineer the platform. Do not use it for surveillance, targeted advertising, or biometric identification. Do not upload identifiable real-patient information without a separately supported written arrangement. Follow applicable laws, including export and sanctions restrictions.

AI supports human judgment

AI-generated transcripts, scores, and feedback can be inaccurate or incomplete. Educators and institutions must review outputs before consequential decisions. We do not guarantee particular learning outcomes or the accuracy of AI outputs. Features vary by plan and institution; a description of a future feature does not promise its availability.

Your content and privacy

You retain your rights in submitted content, subject to the rights of others. You give us permission to process it as needed to provide the service. CompetenCY retains its rights in the platform, software, and branding. We may use voluntary suggestions about the product without compensation.

Our Privacy Policy explains data use and your rights. We do not train models on identifiable customer content. Research, benchmarking, and secondary product improvement with de-identified customer content require a separate express opt-in. School-managed records may be accessible to authorized course staff and institution administrators.

Plans, payments, and ending access

Features, limits, prices, billing frequency, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms are stated in the plan or order accepted at purchase. Automatic renewal and non-refundable fees apply only when expressly included in those agreed terms. We do not directly collect full payment-card details.

You may stop using the service; cancellation and termination follow your applicable subscription or institutional agreement. We may suspend access to protect security, investigate violations, comply with law, prevent misuse, or address unpaid fees. Ordinary access ends on termination. Contact security@joincompetency.ai promptly about an export or deletion; retention and legal obligations may limit what remains available. Institutions have the export window stated in their institutional terms.

Availability and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee error-free operation and disclaim responsibility for decisions made from platform outputs to the extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CompetenCY is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. Our total liability relating to the platform is limited to the amounts you paid us during the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not remove mandatory consumer rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes, disputes, and questions

Delaware law governs these terms, without its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are subject to the state or federal courts in Travis County, Texas, except where mandatory law provides otherwise. We will communicate material changes through the service, website, or email. Continued use after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance, subject to any consent required by law.
